Sales & purchase advice

Boating sales and puchasing adviceWithout expert knowledge too many couples or families buy a boat that is simply unsuitable for their needs. We can give impartial advice on the boat of your choice or even draw up a short list for you based on your requirements.

It’s true that most boat sales, whether new or second-hand, go through without any legal hitches or problems but before parting with what might be your life savings it always pays to undertake some basic checks to avoid your dream becoming a nightmare. We can help by going through a checklist with you or even doing that on your behalf with the vendor. Usually, it also makes sense to get a marine survey undertaken to ensure that the boat is sound and seaworthy. We will locate a reputable marine surveyor for you that has the right experience for the type of craft you are buying.

Once you have bought your yacht we can offer tuition on your boat to help prepare you for an RYA Day Skipper certificate or simply to become more confident and proficient at boat handling.

If you are selling a boat there are numerous options open to achieve the sale and get the best price – private adverts in the classified sections of the yachting press, the Internet or using the services of a professional yacht broker. We can advise on what’s best for your circumstances (and type of boat), do research on pricing to make sure you know how much to ask and, most importantly, prepare the boat for sale to ensure it is the the best possible condition to maximise appeal (and price).
